Jennifer M. Jacobsen

Partner Jennifer Jacobsen regularly advises Baydaline & Jacobsen's community association clients on the day-to-day operational aspects of community association law, including the interpretation, revision and enforcement of governing documents, compliance with the Davis-Stirling Common Interest Development Act and the Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Law, corporate formalities and disclosures, Fair Housing Act compliance and contract oversight, negotiation and administration. Ms. Jacobsen regularly guides community associations in the process of transitioning from developer control to member control. She has experience representing large master planned communities and expertise in dealing with age-restricted communities.

Ms. Jacobsen regularly represents Baydaline & Jacobsen's community association clients in alternative dispute resolution, including both mediation and arbitration. She also provides expert witness services and services as a professional arbitrator and mediator in common interest development disputes and as a pro tem judge for El Dorado County Superior Court.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Marquette University, Ms. Jacobsen obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School. During law school, Ms. Jacobsen was a legal writing instructor, editor of the Wisconsin Law Review and judicial extern to Justice William Callow of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Ms. Jacobsen is a member of the California, Nevada, Alaska and Wisconsin State Bars. She is a certified instructor and legal steering committee member for the California Association of Community Managers. She is past president of the Board of Directors for the California North Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI-CNC) for 2004 and chair of the CAI-CNC Golf Committee. Ms. Jacobsen is a certified instructor for the Nevada Department of Real Estate and oversees the firm's operations in Reno, Nevada as the Law Offices of Jennifer M. Jacobsen.
